Grant Eligibility

ECO4 Grants Eligibility

There are a number of ways you could be eligible. The most straightforward way is if one of the occupiers of the property receives the following benefits:

  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)

  • Income Related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Income Support (IS)

  • Pension Credit Guarantee

  • Working Tax Credit (WTC)

  • Child Tax Credits (CTC)

  • Universal Credit (UC)

  • Housing Benefit (A new benefit making people eligible for ECO4)

  • Pension Credit Savings (Another new eligible benefit for ECO4)

ECO4 SCHEME ELIGIBILITY FOR TENANT / HOMEOWNER

To be eligible for ECO4 funding, the tenant or end-user (i.e. the person or persons living in the property) must be recipients of specific state aid, benefits, allowances, and credits. It's important to note that the eligibility criteria can change over time, so it's crucial to refer to the most up-to-date information on OFGEM's website or consult with relevant authorities. Additionally, even if individuals do not meet the criteria for ECO4 funding, there may be other government funding opportunities available, such as the Green Homes Grant introduced in late 2020.

Lower Income Households May Also Be Eligible

You might still be eligible for assistance under the Local Authority FLEX & LADS program, where FLEX stands for "Local Authority Eligibility Flexibility."

This program is specifically designed to assist homeowners who may not currently receive any form of financial aid but are facing budget constraints. Companies that have been approved by this scheme can offer substantial discounts if your home requires insulation upgrades. To explore the potential benefits available through the Local Authority FLEX & LADS program, we encourage you to visit their website and see how they can assist you with your home insulation needs.

PROPERTY ELIGIBILITY

The eligibility of a property under the ECO4 Scheme is determined by its Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating. An Energy Performance Certificate is a government requirement for properties whenever they are built, sold, or rented. It provides information about the property's energy usage, estimated energy costs, and includes recommendations for energy-saving measures.

Under the ECO4 Scheme, properties with EPC ratings of grade E, F, or G are eligible. This means that properties with lower energy efficiency ratings are more likely to qualify for energy-saving upgrades and improvements provided through the scheme. These upgrades aim to enhance energy efficiency, reduce energy costs, and lower carbon emissions for properties falling within these lower EPC rating categories.
